EMDR Consultation
Feel more confident using EMDR Therapy.
EMDR consultation for therapists seeking support with case conceptualization, complex presentations, clinical decision-making, or working toward EMDR Certification.
EMDR Basic Training gives you a foundation. Consultation helps you apply that foundation to the complexity of real clinical work.
Clients do not always move neatly through the eight phases of EMDR Therapy. You may find yourself wondering how to conceptualize a complicated presentation, where to begin, whether more preparation is needed, which memory network to target, or what to do when processing becomes stuck.
As an EMDRIA Approved Consultant, I provide consultation for EMDR therapists who want thoughtful support with case conceptualization, treatment planning, complex trauma, dissociation, preparation and stabilization, target selection, reprocessing difficulties, and clinical decision-making throughout the eight phases.
My approach is collaborative and practical. We can slow the case down, organize what you are noticing, consider the client’s AIP and memory networks, and identify possible next steps while maintaining fidelity to EMDR Therapy and adapting thoughtfully to the person sitting in front of you.
Consultation can also be used toward EMDR Certification when the consultation meets current EMDRIA requirements.

EMDR Certification
EMDR Certification offers therapists an opportunity to deepen their knowledge, strengthen clinical confidence and continue developing their use of EMDR Therapy beyond Basic Training.
As therapists begin applying EMDR with a wider range of clients, questions often emerge around case conceptualization, preparation, target selection, dissociation, complex trauma, processing difficulties and how to maintain fidelity while responding thoughtfully to the individual client.
Consultation toward EMDR Certification creates space to bring those questions into a collaborative learning process. We can review your clinical work, explore what is happening within the client’s AIP and memory networks, consider areas where the work may be getting stuck, and strengthen your understanding of the eight-phase model.
As an EMDRIA Approved Consultant, I can provide consultation hours that may be used toward EMDR Certification when they meet current EMDRIA requirements.
You do not need to pursue Certification in order to consult with me. Some therapists use consultation simply to strengthen their clinical practice, while others choose to have eligible hours count toward Certification.

Yes. As an EMDRIA Approved Consultant, I can provide consultation hours that may be used toward EMDR Certification when they meet current EMDRIA requirements.
EMDRIA currently requires 20 hours of consultation for certification, including at least 10 individual consultation hours.
Only consultation received after completion of an EMDRIA-approved EMDR Basic Training can be applied toward the certification consultation requirement.
Because EMDRIA requirements can change, therapists pursuing Certification are encouraged to review the current requirements directly with EMDRIA.

No.
You do not need to routinely record client sessions in order to participate in consultation with me.
You can usually bring your clinical observations, case conceptualization, questions and relevant information from the session to consultation.
If reviewing part of a session would ever be useful, we can discuss appropriate options while considering client consent, confidentiality and professional requirements.
To get the most from consultation, you may find it helpful to obtain client consent to audio or video record a session or create a transcript, as there can be valuable learning in the details of the clinical work.

Individual EMDR consultation appointments are typically 50 minutes.
If a longer consultation would be useful for a particularly complex case or for more extensive case review, we can discuss whether a longer appointment is appropriate.
